I have held stocks in government contracting firms (i.e. Halliburton types) as well as technology stocks as a hedge.

My theory is that war, oil, military stocks are anti technology. Which is true from my returns so far. When the NASDAQ falls, the military stocks go up. ANd vice versa. I have used this approach for the past 7 years, and it seems to be true.

ANy thoughts from u investors out there?

i just buy strong company stocks when they're at discount prices. specifically leaders in the industry. gone are the days of 98-99 when you'd double your money every week. these days, i'm happy if i can get 25%/year on stocks. sh*t, even if it was 10%/year average fro the next 50 years i'd be happy.

but futures/commodities,,, thats where 90% of my concentration is on

commodities provide leverage... the type of leverage you only get in real estate, but better, and a lot faster, and all cash, all the time. no escrows, loans, inspections, etc. plus how often can you sell your house the minute you want it sold? not tooo often...

sh*t, put 10% down and control the whole thing! price goes up 10%, but you've already doubled your money.
