A man was fatally shot on Western in K-town Saturday night (actually early Sunday morning).
The spot at Western and Oakwood is where all those pimps and pros hang out, although the police aren't saying much where that's concerned. They're just calling it an attempted robbery.

Oakwood is a couple streets north of OMC, by the big ol' weird looking KFC...

It's at the northern end of K-town, but in LAPD's Hollywood Division. Hollywood Division's south end is Beverly Boulevard, so some of K-town is served by it, and also by Rampart Division on the east (east of Normandie, basically). The rest is Wilshire Division. |

i live rite where it happened, actually it happened on my street....i was still awake it seriously scared the crap outta me, so i dialed 911...cops were out here until 8 until the next morn...this street is pretty safe & didn't have problems in the last 5 years or so but some strange stuff have been goin on lately...some hispanic/philipino looking dude tried to pull some funny sh*t & attacked me last friday night after lying to me that he had a friend in the building the week before...GIRLS, please be careful & aware of your surroundings when going home

my friend lives on that street and last time I went there, I saw about 3 hookers working that corner. Funny stuff.

I had this confused with the korean guy who was getting his car stolen, came out and shot one of the robbers in the back, the other got away. BTW the korean is getting charged for murder..

At first they were going to let the guy off, but then the investigators concluded that the alleged car thief was unarmed, so they arrested the car owner.
It's a tough case, but you have to ask if the guy would have been arrested if he was a white man living in Pacific Palisades.
