Yeah, they scan id. They're really good about that. I prefer those. I'm not fond of partying with kids. Makes me nervous.

Finally, a K-Town venue with a fully stocked bar led by a competent bartender who knows what he's doing. The bartender's name is no other then HeineKen, a martini aficionado, and he will fix you up a drink faster than you can say "Shaken, not stirred." With future plans to expand their list of martinis to over 100 different kinds from every parts of the country, Orchid is definitely the place to get your alcoholic fix.

Orchid's decor is simply amazing, inspired by the owner's love for the ocean. With overflowing streams of waterfall on every wall and magnificent coral-like columns shooting towards the ceilings, it gives off a very interesting ambiance of relaxation and serenity.

But wait, it's not all that predictable. You want special-effects? Their occasional lightning storms controlled by their special lighting equipment, naturally adds excitement to the atmosphere.

Recent recruitment of a new chef who specializes in Pacific Rim cuisine simply adds to the value of their meals, leaving your taste buds asking for more. food is good. had their salmon with some pineapple sauce ... it was good. they chicken satay was ok. i just hate ginger.

oh yeah.... i get 5% off everything downstairs.... and 30 mins free upstairs!! gotta love the owners

Yup. Food is Bomb.

Their Tong Dak was great. Calamari is good, but just like other places, don't let it sit, or it'll get soggy. Honey Barbecue Chicken Wings is a MUST. French Fries are addicting. And ask for a Hot Apple Pie. It's a Ktown213.com Special. Smile

I believe it was closed because they were installing a 100-inch backdrop for a Plasma Quality Projector behind the Bar...

orchid sucks it was soo dead! ! when i went on a fri jan 30th 11 ish. was nice inside but there was just one couple sitting and there and a few dudes sitting in the bar, and you can't even smoke inside like how long is that rule gonna last when the business is in the middle of ktown. menu looks pretty much the same as any other cafe, nothing really stands out except for the drinks.

it's funny, because everytime I go to Bliss, it's empty. Yet it's rated one of the top bars/cafe's in Ktown? And Blink. Well, they've earned their keep in the industry, but I remember going to Blink on a Friday, and it being only about 15 people tops. But now it earned it's title of Ktown's Hottest Bar (LA Weekly).

Give Orchid a chance, and I GUARANTEE that it'll take over that hot spot. It's still my favorite venue in Ktown. Smile

But yeah, like Kragie said, don't go if you don't want to.
