This is my first season boarding... the second time I went up to Mammoth, third time I went to Tahoe. I'm picking the sport up fairly quick considering other people I've known who've boarded for years are at the similar level of boarding as I am.
One thing I've learned is that during harsh, windy, snowy conditions, you must board with a helmet and goggles (face mask helps too)... I learned that after being blinded and facing a near death experience of tumbling 100+ feet in Tahoe. Nevertheless, escaping death and the experience/memories alone were fun and exciting! |

| No worries, falling down in snowboarding is always exagerated.. First time I fell, I swore that I was 40 feet in the air off of a jump, when I really fell on my head and shoulder from a 10 feet jump.. I am glad you're ok... |

nice. squaw is my favorite resort up in tahoe. i like those huge open runs.
i've also been up there once when the wind was really heavy. usually they just shut down the lifts to the top but i was on the lift as one of the last guys. the wind was blowing so hard that the chair was moving all over the place. i would have fallen to my death if i didn't hold onto the side of the chair with all my strength.
the lift also went really slow because of all the wind...it took like 20 minutes to get up to the top....longest 20 minutes of my life.

I think johnny looks like an ahjushi...because he didn't do his hair. The hair can change a person's outter appearance dramatically. ^^

i think andy may just be the only intelligent human being on this forum.. and I don't mean any sarcasm so i mean to only speak the truth!
Definitely, for me, my hair does make a huge change on my appearance. At the time when the pic was taken I didn't bother to do hair gel and just had a beanie on... thus, the flatness of hair making it seem like I'm balding or something so ajjushi looking.

As I saw Johnny sliding down the mountains, my heart just went down to my stomach and I seriously thought that I led my man to his death. Scary but we've survived and are ready for more action. If my vacation pulls through, we'll be headly to Mt. Heavenly in Tahoe in Feb.  |

you should go to utah. park city is my favorite resort.
or head up to colorado. i went to breckenridge and copper the last couple of years and both resort towns are pretty nice.
good change of scenery from tahoe and i don't think the cost is that much different if you want to go from here (flight to reno == flight to SLC, etc.).
