Asian Films Compete at Cannes Eight local films will be among the Asian films heading to the 58 th Cannes Film Festival, taking part in competition and non-competition categories from May 11-22, and presents 53 films from 28 countries. Kim Di-duks The Bow, Ryu Seung-wans Crying Fist, and Lim Sang-soos Tale of Cinema will compete for South Korea s along with a few other Korean Films.

'Promise' Takes Korea's Jang Dong-kun to the World Dubbed the Asian The Lord of the Rings, this movie stars not only Jang Dong-kun, but other Pan-Asian stars as well in this epic fantasy adventure. During the time of making the film, Jang suffered sunstroke several times during filming but displayed great enthusiasm for the movie until the very end, learning Chinese to record his dialogue himself. The Promise, a thrilling story on a grand scale, is scheduled to debut in Korea and China simultaneously in December. Lets hope this 140 million US dollar film does well so that the Hallyu Wave continues on!
