Bae Yong Jun Fever
My husband doesn't talk to me as lovingly and beautifully as Bae Yong Joon does.“
Japanese woman, on the South Korean star of the hit NHK drama "Winter Sonata," which has made Bae a hearththrob in Japan. (The Dong-A Ilbo)

It’s kind of cool that Japanese women are finding happiness and passion within Bae Yong-jun's persona in the Korean drama “Winter Sonata.”  It’s a bonus for Korean men because the Japanese “Winter Sonata” women view Korean men as being these masculine males with good hearts and a good understanding of family importance.  Nevertheless, it’s sad that they actually go to agencies and sign up to marry a Korean man simply because of television show.

Yet it’s cool that Bae Yong-jun is as famous as Michael Jackson in his prime because it does help the relationship between South Korea and Japan.  But it’s still sad that an entity from a television fantasy is the only one that can do this as well as make thousands of Japanese women in their homes feel like there isn’t any real love in their lives.

Kim Tae-hee, left and Kim Rae-won star in the SBS drama ‘Love Story in Harvard’
OOO, OOO…I want to see Kim Tae-hee.  Apparently this drama is not being filmed at Harvard at all, but in West Los Angeles.  I haven’t seen it yet but I certainly hope they spare the viewers the bad English speaking extras.  I’ve always wondered though, when I watch a bad English-speaking actor in a Korean drama, what is going on in their heads?  Are they embarrassed or proud?  I kind of feel embarrassed for them.  I’m just saying I think the writers should cut out the English dialogue completely in all Korea n dramas.

Bangbus a Bust
If you don’t know what it is, it’s a quasi-reality porn show where these douche bags who laugh like hillbillies on meth go around Florida picking up “unsuspecting” girls and boink them in a van.  Then after all is said and done, the degraded girls are left in the middle of nowhere.  Turns out, it’s all planned out, which should be quite obvious because Bangbus would have far too many lawsuits for their own good if it weren’t.

Tiger to appear in Korean drama - Sept 9, 2004
Korean Drama will over take you, just like Tiger and his mom.  It looks like thanks to his mom, Tiger is inspired to act in a Korean drama using his dry personality and monotone voice.  Now that’ll be entertaining.
