If “farfegnugen” means “driving pleasure” in German, then Richard Moon of Los Angeles must experience it every time he gets behind the wheel of his 2000 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo. Like Britney Spears, this car is not only pretty to look at, it sounds great also. Sponsored by Pioneer, this burgundy blur is no stranger to attention as it leaves all onlookers opened-mouthed and their fillings loose with its sound system.

Ktown213.com got a chance to ask Richard some quick questions once he actually slowed down. Thank God for long red lights…

Please give us a brief description about your car and yourself.
Well, my car, which is fully sponsored, is a 2000 VW Beetle 1.8t and that stands for 1.8 liter turbo. Um, I’m always confused and love cheese. (Kt213: Huh???) Oh and the color of my car, which is Pioneer red or burgundy, or whatever you want to call it, is a metallic paint that changes color due to brightness of light. (Cool!) I have Wings West kit, 19x8 Ro_ja Formula 7's on Toyo Proxes tires, and of course all the audio is Pioneer. It consists of only one 10 inch carbon Kevlar sub and all rev Pioneer interior speakers. The head unit is a 6.5 inch touch screen DVD/CD player that’s not available to the public yet. It's pretty sick… The interior includes Momo racer seats with both the front and rear seats wrapped in custom carbon leather and grey suede.

For the motor, I have a Greddy Sylvia intercooler with custom piping that allows the least amount of heat soak to the intercooler pipes, a Greddy T.V.V.V.C. type mini manual boost controller, a Ko4 turbo upgrade from Neuspeed with a turbo inlet pipe and down pipe. I also have a full cat back exhaust, intake and Greddy Type S blow off valve, Koni adjustable shocks with Neuspeed race springs, Neuspeed front sway bar, front lower tie bar and rear sway bar, Stage 2 HID's, and last but not least a carbon fiber hood.

Oh, and as for some info about me, I fight amateur Muay Thai. (Thai kickboxing for the layman) I’ve had 4 fights, which so far have never lost except for one draw. But we know who really won though. I have armpit hair dreads and I can braid my toe hairs. Oh and by the way, I love farting. (I think we know a little too much…)

What is your favorite part of your car?
I love my steering wheel. It’s a Momo suede steering wheel. The shit is sick, but I don't touch the suede part because I don't it to get all fvcked up. You know that shit gets. (Dang Mr. Potty mouth)

What in your opinion makes or breaks the car?

I know I’m cursing too much. Oh well. Um the wheels make or break the car.... must have the right wheels and the right OFFSET. For people who don't know what offset is, look at all any playa pimp fakes and take a closer look at their wheels. They either go in the car or stick out to much. You want yo shit flush..... Even a Porsche with wack wheel fitment will kill the cars sex appeal, but that’s just me.

Who are your sponsors?
My sponsors are... taking a deep breath, Toyo tires, Valvoline Synpower (oil), Eagle One (car cleaning products), Ro_ja wheels, Neuspeed, Greddy, PIONEER, M.O.B. works (paint), ADM graphics, SABERONE.com (the biggest graff artist in the world), MOMO, Deepstaged engineering, Group 5 Motorsports, CDB fabrications, HID's For Less, Fiber Images, Kreative Auto Interior, AUDIO OPTIONS, Wings West, and I think I forgot some, but I’m too lazy to go out and look at the car. So sorry to whomever I forgot!

What honestly made you decide to fix up your ride?
Actually, I didn't decide, it just happened after I saved up 2 g's for wheels. I screamed like a little girl when I heard the good news that I got sponsored.

Any advice for peeps out there trying to get sponsors for their ride?

Um yeah... you must build a car on your own first. Try to get that shit featured in grips of mags, mostly cover pages. Then on your second car, you’ll have some credibility. So type a bomb ass proposal and good luck....oh and make sure you build clean shit, not to wild. Oh, this applies to everyone, CHROME DOES NOT TAKE THEM HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely want to thank Antony Kim for all his help and passenger seat driving skills everywhere we went.......hahahah!
