Q&A: Susan
Hutchison
Part I: The Interview
Ktown213: Hi Susan, give
our Ktown213 viewers your 30 second intro!
Susan Hutchison: Hey guys, Im Susan and Im currently in
sunny So Cal. I currently attend college studying Biochemistry and
nuclear medicine. I also work with children helping them in areas of
school that trouble them. When Im not doing these things, Im usually
doing some kind of modeling, shows, or projects.
Kt213: Give us a little background of where you're from
Susan.
SH: Right after I was born in Seoul, Korea, my family and I
started moving around the world. My father was in the military and so
weve been everywhere. When I was in 6th grade I moved back to Korea for
another 5 years, and thats when all the modeling started for me. I used
to walk around Apkujung and Kang Nam and the model scouts used to hound
me like crazy. I couldnt escape it and eventually the whole industry
became a part of my life. I used to do a lot of shows for SBS and EBS.
Ive worked on LA Arirang, New York Story, Bo Bo Bo, and any other
English teaching shows. I was in many different magazines modeling for
clothes and advertising products. I also did many runway shows for
different clients and agencies. After I left Korea I took a long break
from it. I got back into it when I was in Houston for a couple years.
There I was doing numerous fashion shows, and car shows for Endless
Performance Racing. After I moved to Cali, it all kind of fell into my
lap again. But this is a part of my life so I could never turn it away.
Kt213: That's great to hear, so how do you like modeling so
far?
SH: Modeling def has its ups and downs. Overall I have to
say I love it. You have to love what you spend majority of your time
doing or else youll be miserable. I love to travel and meet new people.
The worse part is the image people perceive from modeling. Many people
think its all fun and games and make ignorant comments that hurt my
feelings, but its actually real work and I actually do get burnt out
and experience fatigue. I spend many nights at home catching up on sleep
and resting to prevent stress. But I cant complain. Id rather be doing
this than sitting at a desk job for 8 hours a day.
Kt213: Any upcoming projects we should know about?
Where can we see more of you Susan?
SH: Theres a couple of music videos that are coming out
soon. Everyone probably knows a couple of artists Ive worked with, like
Snoop Dogg and Game. Warren G and Nate Dogg were there on the set for
Snoops song Fairytales. Theyre a lot of fun. I also worked on the
Hush project featuring Eminem and Nate Dogg again. Hes really funny.
You can see more of me on my website,

year, so stay updated by checking out my site.
Kt213: I'm sure our viewers will be eager to check it out.
What are your turn-on's? Your turn-off's?
SH: Turn offs: Being inconsiderate and unappreciative.
Rude, mean, and always complaining/being negative. It makes me sad when
people are like this! Turn ons: People that are always smiling and
laughing really make my day. Theyre happy because theyre here just
living. Also, I know it's silly, but when a guy opens my car door for me
it makes me blush. Being a gentlemen is a definitely a turn on!
Kt213: What do you like to do during your free time? Any
hobbies?
SH: Well I spend a lot of time in the gym, and I try to hit
up the batting cages and basketball courts when I get a chance, as my
height is useful there! Im not a big fan of TV, and Id much
rather read a book or talk to someone, anyone. Then when the
weekend hits and I have no shoots or appointments the next day, I drink
like Im in Korea again. I also enjoy go-go dancing, it can get real fun
and crazy.
Kt213: Being half-Korean, do you do any typical "Korean
stuff" that remind you that you're Korean?
SH: I must eat a lot of Korean food on a regular basis or
else Ill get sick. Really! Then theres that part of me that can drink
and study for hours and hours until the crack of dawn. Not
simultaneously of course.
Kt213: What are some of your favorite places to visit in
Ktown?
SH: I go to Ktown when I need to pick up a few things. Korean
stationary stores are the best! When I was younger I used to save
my lunch money and buy HOT postcards and hang them up in my locker. Ha
ha! Theres also a couple of Korean BBQ places that Im addicted to.
Kt213: Whos been your role model as of late?
SH: My mom! We're wild out when we get together. We were in
Vegas for my birthday recently and we were both dancing like crazy while
walking through Caesar's Palace. Everyone was looking at us but we
didnt care. Shes always believed in me and saw the talent in me, even
when I was down and didnt believe in myself. This is probably why I am
who I am today. Couldnt do it without my mother
Kt213: That's awesome Susan, we thank you so much for your
time, and we wish you the best of luck!
SH: Thanks for all the love and featuring me! Before
I jam, I have to give the biggest shout to all my supporters. I
sincerely appreciate everything and I love you all. Also, shout
outs to Erickson and Jason from Performance Auto and Sound, check them
out at www.pasmag.com, sup to my
boys Harry and Daniel from
www.destination-nightlife.com, Ben from
www.thehouseofglam.com, my
beloved family, and last but not least the big man above that has been
the biggest supporter of all.
