Q&A: Najin Jun
Part I: The Interview
KTOWN213: Hi Najin, give
our viewers your 30 second intro!
Najin: Hi-ho, K-town! What an insane privilege it is to be
on here. My name's Najin Jun, I'm a quirky, Canada-born Korean. I'm
currently rampaging the streets of Vancouver, BC, attending The
University of British Columbia studying junk that you don't want to hear
about, ha ha.
Kt213: Sparkling personality you have! Your personal
website (www.najin.co.nr) is quite interesting to say the least. Did you design it
yourself?
Najin: In short, I'm a complete and utter nerd when it
comes to art. As far as my site goes, yeah, I've spent snot-nosed,
grueling hours slaving over it, heh. Designing it, sketching the
graphics, color coordinating, the whole shebang. I've always been keen
on showing my work with the public in hopes inspiring some people along
the way...I guess that's what got me interested in conjuring it up in
the first place.
Kt213: So art been a major player in your life...
Najin: Art. I live it, breathe it, excrete it. Ha ha, it's
one of my true loves. I think God stamped art all over me when I was
born, I can't shake it off.
Kt213: As far as "modeling", are you doing it as a hobby or
would you like to take it to another level?
Najin: Modeling is a beautiful, interactive form of art and
I've loved doing it while I've had the opportunities to. For now it'll
stay as a hobby, though that'd definitely be an insane blessing to be
able to take it to another level.
Kt213: Where do you hang out? Where can we see more of
Najin?
Najin: Anyone visiting Vancouver would only have to stalk
me to my house to see more of me, ha ha. I love my room, it's my utopia.
If I'm not there, I'd say there is no way to track me down. I
spontaneously go literally anywhere in this city, the beach, a bud's
house, downtown, a barren wheat field, who knows? The best way to
'see more of me' would be online, har har.
Kt213: I'm sure we can find some Internet stalkers for you,
ha ha. What's British Columbia like? What's the Korean community
like over there?
Najin: Our license plates don't have 'Beautiful British
Columbia' printed on them for no reason. No where else can you find
beaches, mountains, snowboarding, cities, clean air all in the same
place. I love it here. As far as the Korean community goes,
unfortunately, I'd say it's pretty segregated. There are tons of Koreans
who come straight from Korea and bunch up in their groups while the
small handful of English-speaking ones disperse into theirs. Our Korean
community is a little broken, but hey, at least we have one, ha ha.
Kt213: Besides art, any other hobbies you enjoy?
Najin: I'm an insanely impulsive person. So my hobbies
would consist of anything from loafing about with people that strike my
fancy to streaking through a room of crowded people, ha ha. My hobby is
doing what excites me, and that's always changing.
Kt213: Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Najin: 5 years from now, I'll be graduating from pharmacy
school, making a killing, cruising on my ninja. No doubt about that.
Kt213: Your turn-on's and turn-off's?
Najin: Turn ons, hmm, excellent question. I love unique,
vivid guys who have strong direction in their life. I find guys who are
disciplined a huge turn on, maybe because it's something that I lack.
Guys who are modest and humble at what they do is a big up. Guys who can
keep up with my sarcastic sense of humor, maybe throw in some funnies of
their own, that is a big turn on. Turn off's...insecure, inconsiderate,
unable-to-control-their-testosterone blockheads.
Kt213: Well Najin, thank you for the interview and we wish
you the best of luck!
Najin: The pleasure's all mine, keep on thriving, K-town!
