Q&A: Min-Hee Hong
Part I: The Interview
Ktown213: Hello Min-Hee, give
our viewers your 30-second intro!
Min-Hee Hong: Hey Ktown213, what's up? My name is Min, I'm stuck
in La Crosse going to school...some one save me from the Midwest! Just
kidding, it's not bad. Art and rock music are my life.
KT213: So tell us, what made you decide to give modeling a shot?
MH: Hmmm, a lot of people, including the ones I didn't even know, kept coming up to me
asking me if I would give it a shot, or that I should give it a shot. So
I figured why not? It might be something that's really fun! So
here I am!
KT213: Most of the models featured on our site are labeled as
import models. How come you didnt follow that route?
MH: There is no import scene where I am at, so I really don't
care for it, I don't know that much about import cars to begin with, ha
ha. I don't know anything about cars except
how to change the tire, oil, and a few other things. I don't know how
different I am from import models, because I really don't know import models up
close and personal. I stick to doing promotions and fashion, well,
fashion for those that think my height isn't an issue. For me as an art student, modeling is all about aesthetics. Modeling isn't about cars,
money, and etc. It's creation, expression, and imagination. The previous
spotlight Najin Jun understood this, and she was an awesome artist
herself!
KT213: Have your friends and family been supportive of your
modeling career?
MH: Oh yes, it was mostly family that pushed me into the agency.
At first I was hesitant, but my mother really wanted me to give it a
shot. But this is even funnier, my dad wanted me to try beauty pageants, at
which I would just look at him and laugh. My friends have been really
supportive. I guess you could say I am very lucky to have the support of
those I care and respect the most.
KT213: Where would you like to see yourself five years from now?
MH: Hopefully graduating from grad school and getting into a
career I look forward to every morning when I get up. Or else I'm
still going to be stuck in grad school cramming thick books, sucking
down caffeine, and praying for graduation.
KT213: So whats there to do in your home state? Any hobbies of
interest?
MH: Ha ha, there's not much to do here. The best place to hit up
is "the warehouse" where all the up and coming punk/rock/alternative
bands play. I'm a coffee shop freak, I love coffee. It's an addiction. If
you like winter sports you'll love my home state, you can ski, skate, and
snowboard 'til your heart's content.
KT213: I know you haven't been to K-Town yet, but will you be visiting soon?
MH: Yes, I will be visiting for sure. I have family in LA,
and I hope to go visit them and hang out soon. I
would have no idea where to go, but that makes it more fun.
KT213: What are your turn-ons and turn-offs?
MH: Hmm turn-ons are dimples, awesome smiles, open personalities,
artistic people, video gamers! My turn offs are heavy conservatives, guys
with huge muscles, (don't know why, just don't care for that bulging neck
and shoulders look), hmmm, I really don't have that many turn offs
sorry...
KT213: Where can we see more of you? Any upcoming projects?
MH: I have a couple up coming projects that
deal with street fashion in Seoul, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. I'll have to
let you know where you can find me later on, because I'm not even
sure, ha ha.
KT213: Min-Hee, we thank you for your time, and good luck with
your career!
MH: Thanks for having me as a spotlight, best of luck to all of
you in K-Town!
