James Choi
1. Give us a 30 second intro about yourself.

I'm James Choi. I was born and raised in the San Jose California soon to be relocating down to LA. I began a career in Professional Wrestling a little over a year and half ago. My job is to beat people up and get paid for it. I'm also doing bartending and barista on the side. I've always gone against the grain when it comes to making choices in my life, like pursuing Pro wrestling and Acting. I believe in following your dreams no matter what it is and never settling for anything less. I'm a bit quirky, slightly off the wall, very down for my close friends, outgoing and selectively shy, love deep conversations as well as just being silly, I have to work on managing my time better, heehee. I guess you could say I'm one big walking contradiction. I've overcome many obstacles in my life to get to where I'm at and I'm still working on being comfortable in my own skin. I believe there's no shame in falling down the shameful part is not getting back up. Okay I've said to much......

2. How did your fascination with wrestling begin, and who were some of your favorite wrestlers growing up?

It began as little kid at age 7. My Aunt (E-moe) got me into it when she would baby-sit my sister and I on the weekends. She would turn it on every Saturday and I would sit right next to her on the floor and watch it
in the mornings. I remember my first match I ever saw was Hulk Hogan Vs. Kamala. I was hooked on it ever since. It's funny, I got to meet Kamala week ago at a show. Nothing like I imagined he would be. Such a nice guy, I remember being so scared of him as a kid.  My favorite wrestlers growing were Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (the biggest Asian star in the WWE at the time), Hulk Hogan of course and Rowdy
Roddy Piper.

3. Do you have any background in martial arts? If so, what did you study and how has that helped you in your career?

I've studied Tae Kwon Do for over 15 years and received my 3rd Dan Black Belt. I was teaching it for about 10 years. I actually quit teaching Martial Arts to pursue a career of Professional Wrestling. I've also
studied a little bit of kick-boxing, Wushu, gymnastics, and Brazilian Jujitsu which has helped me tremendously in Pro Wrestling. I don't think I would have picked up on Pro Wrestling as fast as I did if it wasn't for my Martial Arts background. Its helped so much.

4. What do you do on your spare time when you're not wrestling or promoting?

Spare time? What's that? Heehee, just kidding. Naw, when I do find time it depends on my mood. I like to party sometimes and sometimes I like quiet evenings hanging out w/ my friends or family. I also like to read, listen to music, write down my thoughts, sleep (wish I more of that), love having BBQ's when I'm not on the road and I like to drive around w/ my friends and a talking dog trying to solve mysteries. (J/k about the last part).

5. What has been the biggest accomplishment in your career, or even life?

If you mean Wrestling Career, I guess winning the APW World Wide Internet Championship. In life I'm still learning and growing. I'm only living a half my dream right now the other half is to make it to the WWE and
be successful in the entertainment business.

6. If you had a chance to meet Vince McMahon right now, what would you say to him?

What would I say to Vince McMahon if met him?  Hmmm, don't know. I guess the same thing I say to
anyone else when I meet them "It's a pleasure meeting you."

7. Who are some of your favorite wrestlers today?

From the WWE: The Rock and Kurt Angle and from my company APW: Robert Thompson and James Watkins.

8. I know you're coming to Los Angeles pretty soon, to perform and showcase your talents. Tell us more about the show.

The show is going to be in Newhall, CA. on 10/18/03 at American Legion Post. I'm scheduled to wrestle Lil Cholo in what's called a dog collar match. What that is both wrestlers are in the ring w/ a dog collar around
there neck. Then a chain is placed over 20 feet above the ring. The object of the match is to get a ladder and climb up to the top, grab the chain climb back down, hook it on your opponent and then go for a pin or a submission. I know its a little confusing and its not like a normal wrestling match that i'm used to. I'm continuing the feud that I had w/ him last time I was in Southern California. But this time I got a little
surprise rolled up my sleeve. I guess your gonna have to wait and see at the show....

9. Will you be checking out K-Town as well?

I'm returning to the motherland, hehe. I've never been there and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm gonna stay w/ my cousin while I'm down here and hopefully meet up w/ some new friends that I met.

10. What's your favorite Korean website?

ktown213 of course!
